About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

I cease to be surprised at much of anything any more…or so I thought. I had a BIG surprise this morning…well, maybe not BIG; it depends on you look at “it”.

I went out to check the bathhouse around 7 a.m. This is something I do every morning. There were no lights on in the men’s room so I figured it was safe to enter. Just as I walked IN the door and turned on the lights, a man stepped out from the dressing area of one of the showers…and he didn’t even bother to use the curtain as a cover! I must have turned 12 shades of red as I was apologizing and making a hasty retreat. I’m not sure who was more surprised; him or me. He finally spoke and gave me some good, but late, advice; “Don’t look, Ethel!” OH, YES THEY CALL HIM THE STREAK! FASTEST THING ON TWO FEET! HE’S JUST AS PROUD AS HE CAN BE, OF HIS ANATOMY, HE’S GONNA GIVE US A PEAK! At least he had a sense of humor about it!

If we passed each other during the day, I didn’t recognize him…at least not with his clothes on!

Maybe it is a GOOD thing that camping season is getting off to a s l o w start!
