IT IS RAINING! IT HAS BEEN RAINING!! We are finally getting rain!!! Even the birds are happier!
For the past couple of weeks, as I’ve said, the Wizards have predicted rain but it always missed us. Dan and I have been waiting to stain the cabins. Every day there was rain in the forecast so we didn’t want to start when there was even a possibility of rain. There is rain in our forecast every day this week. I know this is wishing for a LOT, considering how long we wished for rain, but it’d sure be nice for vacationers if it could rain during the night and be nice during the day!
That would be especially nice since vacationers are so few and far between up here this year. We had a campground guest check in Friday that had been up to the Tahquamenon Falls for about 3 hours. That whole time he and his wife were there, he said there was a total of 5 cars at any one time in the parking lot. THAT is scary. The lot should have been packed…in a normal year.
Well, I did the ice packs on my shoulder yesterday and that just made it so much worse, so I started using heat. It feels better this a.m. but still pretty darn sore. This is the main reason I haven’t been writing too much of my own “stuff” here lately…it hurts to sit at the computer. So that is it for today; gotta go heat up the rice bag and put it on my shoulder!
Enjoy the day!
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
