Did you know that we are centrally located to the Eastern U.P. attractions?
Among those attractions are the Logging Museum (5 minutes away), Tahquamenon Falls (20 minutes), The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and Lighthouse Station (45 minutes), Seney Wildlife Refuge (45 minutes), Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore (45 minutes), Soo Locks and Boat Tours (90 minutes), Casinos almost in any direction (60 minutes), Golf course (9 miles), small town shopping (5 miles), hospital (6 miles), Oswalds Bear Ranch (7 miles) and the Toonerville Trolley and Boat tour (22 miles).
We are not all that far from Fayette, Kitch-iti-Kipi- and many other attractions. There is agate hunting along Lake Superior, fishing, canoeing, bird watching (we have a deck for our adult guests to set quietly and watch the birds at our many feeders and bird fountain). There is SO muich to see and do in the Newberry area!
At our campground, we offer large, level grassy pull thru sites. You have a choice of electric, water and electric, full hook up or rustic. Some sites have trees and some are more in the open (for those who prefer to set up a satellite dish instead of hook up to our CATV). Tenters will enjoy the HUGE grassy tent sites located under majestic white pines. We now offer FREE WI-FI FOR OUR GUESTS!!! As the source is located in the lobby, you need to come to the office for the password of the day.
While are rates are very reasonable, we DO offer a 10% discount to all American Vets, police (active or retired) and firefighters (active or retired). This is for camping only; not for the lodging. Our rates range from $16.00 per night for rustic to $21.00 per night for full hk up. Rates are based on 4 persons per site. Please visit our website at www.northcountrycampground.com for ALL the info and LOTS of photos. You will find our lodging info there as well as our cancellation policies.
On our website you will also find a form to check for availability as well as a link to our secure, online 24/7 camping reservation system.
Please also take the time to visit www.newberrytourism.com. Lots of wonderful photos, suggestions of things to do and plenty of info about the area!
Hope to see you this summer!!
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
